Train with the head coaches of Canada’s men’s national beach volleyball team and OnPoint Beach Volleyball.
Join Josh Nichol, Head Coach of Canada’s Men’s National Beach Volleyball Team, and Darren O’Neil, Director and Head of Coach and Athlete Development at OnPoint Beach Volleyball, for a full day of training and competition on indoor sand. They’ll be joined by an athlete from Canada’s Women’s National Beach Volleyball Team, who will share how she trains and competes at the national team level.
What to Expect
- Three on-court training sessions led by Josh Nichol and Darren O’Neil, with instruction, feedback, and competitive drills
- Training based on the Beach Nation curriculum developed by Todd Rogers, Patty Dodd, and Mark Fishman
- A video session over lunch to study the game off the court
- King and Queen of the Beach competitions to finish the day, with rotating partners so athletes can register individually
- An official Beach Nation T-shirt
Why Attend
Take your indoor game to the sand before Christmas break. With two players per side, you’ll get more chances to pass, set, and attack while learning to cover more court, communicate with a partner, and make decisions under pressure. Finish the day by putting those skills to work in competition. Beach Skills always translate to the indoor court!
Who Can Attend
Open to any and all participants in the 12U–18U age groups.
Boys and girls welcome. No partner required.
The Beach Nation Advantage
Train with coaches who bring different perspectives to the same game. Josh brings the technical and tactical detail he teaches at the national team level. Darren brings his experience developing youth beach athletes and helping them turn feedback into habits they can use in their next match.
